The Family Resource Centre provides FREE programs and services to all parents and caregivers of children prenatal to age 5 in Saskatoon.

Play Spaces

We Have:

  • A drop-in play and learn space

  • Programming space

  • Early years health Visiting Professionals

  • Staff trained in early childhood development

  • Space for networking and workshops

 

We Offer:

  • Parent and child play-together programs

  • Parent and child music and literacy programs

  • Parent education programs

  • Programs and information sessions facilitated by health care professionals

  • Information about other parenting supports and child development programs in the community

All programs are FREE unless otherwise stated.

Our Team

Saba Zaidi

Centre Coordinator

Saba Zaidi has a Bachelor of Science major in Biology from Meerut University in India. She completed Early Childhood Education ( ECE) Level III from Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She loves to influence the lives of young children and to promote their holistic development. She always enjoys seeing things from children’s perspective. She has worked with children from infants to school age in different Child Care Centres in Saskatoon. She has volunteered in several programs offered by different social organizations in Saskatoon with children of different ages and diverse background. She is excited to work at our centre and looks forward to using her education and skills to make a difference in the lives of more families.

Yejin Cho

Full Time Program Facilitator

Yejin graduated from South Korea, Dongshin University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Since she was young, she has dreamed of becoming a teacher, which led her to participate in long-term volunteer activities, gaining valuable experience working with children of various ages. Through these experience, she was able to closely observe how children grow at their own pace and in their unique ways, and she found great fulfillment in supporting their development. She also finds joy in sparking children curiosity and watching them explore the world in their own ways as they grow. She is passionate about helping children build confidence in a safe and positive environment, and is eager to use her experience to support them on their journey. She is excited to join the Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centre and is looking forward to contributing her passion and experience to support children and their families.

Hailey Sewell

Part Time Program Facilitator

Hailey is finishing her Kinesiology degree with the University of Saskatchewan. After this degree she plans on doing a Masters in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. She is particularly interested in cognitive and motor development in young children and hopes to learn more. Hailey is full of energy to run, jump, and play and is excited to bring activities to the Centre.  Her experience as a children’s coach in many different activities and sports taught her to enjoy activity and love the health benefits of being active. In her spare time Hailey loves to adventure, hike, and garden.  

Chasity Head-Stonestand

Program Designer

Chasity graduated from the University of Saskatchewan where she earned her Bachelor of Indian Teacher Education degree. Chasity also recently graduated from the University of Regina where she earned her Bachelor of Social Work degree. Chasity’s background includes working closely with youth, children and their families. Chasity has always had an interest in working for the best interest of all people she connects with. She comes to the Program Designer position from the Awasis KidsFirst Program with the Saskatchewan Health Authority where she was a Social Work Home Visitor who provided early childhood development curriculum to caregivers and families. She has high interest in supporting families, children, and the larger community through programming that includes a focus on early childhood development, cultural relevance, and trauma informed practices. Chasity enjoys spending time with her family, learning and being curious, and spending time in nature (mostly by a fire). Chasity is excited to not only meet visiting members of the Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centers, but to partner and work closely with the Saskatoon Early Years Family Resource Centers staff.


Sachkeerat Kaur

Part Time Program Facilitator

Sacheerat completed her studies in an Office Administration Executive graduate from Sheridan College in Toronto, Ontario. With a strong background in administrative skills, she is deeply passionate about creating supportive and nurturing environments, both professionally and for children. Her love for working with children was ignited during her time at a Toronto daycare, where she discovered a genuine joy in being around young minds and helping them grow. She is committed to nurturing growth and supporting young mind. She enjoys dancing and playing basketball and other ball games with infants. She believes in the power of play and physical activity to support children’s development and loves combining fun with learning. She is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children, ensuring they have opportunities to grow, learn, and have fun along the way.
